How does a young model cope with being compared to Kate Moss, and with having a whole book devoted to her by Rankin? It happened a while agone, but we feel that Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley would have taken it in her stride, even then. Later all, this is the woman who said: "I'one thousand not hither to win a popularity contest. I'm here to work and have a career. Let the haters detest. I'm ready for the criticism".
Her no-nonsense attitude may date back to having been bullied at school over her double-barrelled name, full lips and boyish effigy, just then, we as well have to remember that this 1987-built-in Devon native boasts politicians and baronets amidst her ancestors, with links to one of Queen Victoria'southward descendants.
GCSEs were preceded by work experience at London's Profile agency. Once the exams were out of the way in 2003, Rosie signed up, and at the age of xvi, did her first modelling session for a Levi jeans commercial. Her big break came in New York, when she flew out for a shoot with Teen Vogue in Jan 2004. Her first rail experience came with Naomi Campbell not long later, and still in the Big Apple, Bruce Weber shot her for Abercrombie & Finch.
In 2006, she signed to Victoria's Secret (condign an Angel in 2010), simply stayed unknown outside the fashion world until she took the place of Agyness Deyn in Burberry's 2008 autumn/winter entrada with histrion Sam Riley. A British Faddy cover followed, and she featured as the face up of Karen Millen's 2009 spring/summer campaign. In the aforementioned year, she received a well-deserved Elle Style Award for Model of the Year, appeared in a brusque Agent Provocateur motion picture, and was involved with Godiva and Miss Lx.
2010 saw a nude Huntingdon-Whiteley in the Pirelli calendar, shot by Terry Richardson, and catwalk work for Giles Deacon in Paris, and Prada in Milan. She shot ads for Burberry, Loewe, and Monsoon, introducing its underwear range, while encompass work has included GQ UK, Faddy, and Harper's Boutique Russia.
This English rose has as well worked with Bloomingdales, Ralph Lauren, DKNY, and Tommy Hilfiger, and has walked for Vera Wang, Valentino, and Oscar de la Renta. She was chosen as face of the Burberry Body fragrance in 2011, and in 2012, was named top way icon at the Elle Style Awards. In 2013, she joined other inspirational women for the M&South Christmas advert.
In 2010, Rosie took over from Megan Pull a fast one on as the female lead in the motion-picture show Transformers: Dark of the Moon, calling information technology "a crazy opportunity". Reviews of her performance subsequently its 2011 opening weren't specially favourable, so maybe what'due south needed is just more than experience, and the right vehicle for her style.
Fashionable diets don't play a great part in her daily routine. Having grown up on a farm, her tip for eating well is "nothing extreme", preferring to simply "cutting out carbs and refined sugars". It helps that she'south not a big political party-goer or drinker, and doesn't exercise drugs. She but wants to make her family proud, she says. We're sure she does that!
